![]() I don't think there's a single wasted shot in the whole film. ![]() It plays well with themes, dichotomies, it foreshadows well and everything is beautifully shot and constructed. Wreck-it Ralph is an incredibly well constructed film. They could've made it a platformer or a brawler as well, maybe a shmup, but racing was really the perfect fit. They couldn't have the majority of the action in Hero's Duty, since the enemy is based there and the spread of the bugs is the point, so they need to be in a different game, so it all has to coalesce within a third game and it has to be a game that is diametrically opposed to both Ralph and Calhoun's natural game styles to create the fish out of water aspect, and for the Turbo storyline to play out properly, it needs to be a game type that iterates regular and has been around since the first arcades.
